During its first year (March 2025 – March 2026) HeatDDR has successfully laid the foundations for a vibrant international doctoral network.
The kick-off meeting took place in December 2025 and brought together all partners to align scientific objectives, training activities, and implementation plans.
A major milestone of the year was the successful recruitment and integration of nine doctoral fellows. They have now joined their respective host laboratories and officially launched their individual research projects.
Another key achievement was the workshop on imaging techniques. This event strengthened methodological competencies, fostered exchanges between doctoral candidates and supervisors, and helped shape the collaborative spirit of the network.
From a project management perspective, HeatDDR reached all primary operational and scientific milestones planned for this initial phase, and submitted all the due deliverables.
As we close this first year, we are grateful for the strong engagement of our partners, supervirors, students, and wider community. Looking ahead, we anticipate the first significant research results, additional workshops, and continued growth as our doctoral candidates present their work to the wider scientific community.
